Our people are as diverse as the geography, which makes traveling Texas a unique experience. The Lone Star state is rich with different cultures, histories, food, music and art. However, wherever you go, you will find a common thread - we all speak "Texas Friendly"!

You will feel at home in our rustic campsites, spacious RV sites and well appointed RV resorts. You will find beautiful scenery, outstanding food, museums, attractions, and our most famous export, Texas hospitality.

FlowersA tribute to Texas wildflowers -- the more than 5,000 flowering plants that are native to Texas -- and a look inside The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, the only national nonprofit center committed to the preservation and re-establishment of native plants. The tallest point in Texas is Guadalupe Peak at 8,751 feet, in the Guadalupe Mountains National Park, which is located near the Texas / New Mexico border.



Space ShuttleApplaud the accomplishments of NASA and the American human space flight program at Space Center Houston. You will relive the past achievements of the space program and witness today's history in the making. Space Center Houston is the official visitors center for NASA's Johnson Space Center. This world-class facility is not federally funded.

Fort Worth, Texas (City of Fort Worth, Texas) Fort Worth got a rough-and-rowdy reputation early when it was settled in 1849 as an Army outpost on the fork of the Trinity River--one of eight different posts in Texas assigned to protect settlers from Indian attacks.

He represented the executive branch of the Republic and oversaw the army, navy and militia. Settling Texas boundary disputes, creating and issuing legal tender, establishing a permanent capital, paying debts, selling land and defending citizens from potential attacks from Mexico were the issues facing the Republic. Texas became the 28th state to enter the Union on December 29, 1845. Annexation by the United States became a solution to many of the Republic's problems.

Texas pioneered the Adopt-a-Highway program in 1985, but has now been surpassed by other states in both the number of groups involved in the program and amount of Adopted Highways.

Texas Saver Card ~Spindletop, near Beaumont in East Texas, was Texas' first oil gusher in 1901. It signaled the beginning of the state's oil boom.
