Mesquite Championship Rodeo - C'mon buckaroos, head to the rodeo! In north Texas, you'll find this event at its finest at the Mesquite Championship rodeo. From April until the end of September each year, you can sit in an air-conditioned stadium (just 15 minutes from downtown Dallas), enjoying barrel races, steer wrestling, and the Kids Calf Scramble. Watch the brave rodeo clowns dodge around the bulls and bucking broncos. TV monitors make it easy to get a closer look at the action. The rodeo takes place on Friday and Saturday evenings. |

People flock from all over Texas to come to Canton's First Monday Trade Days, a grand festival of shopping and bargains, held over the weekend preceding the first Monday of every month. From 8 am to 6 pm on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before the first Monday, you'll find hundreds of vendors selling everything from crafts and delicious treats to house-wares, clothes, equipment, tools, and toys.
