Fort Independence Reservation Campground is conveniently located off Highway 395 in the quiet town of Independence, California. We're set in the beautiful Owens Valley, not far from Mount Whitney and the Alabama Hills. Our area is known as the gateway to Death Valley National Park and as an incredible place to enjoy special events like the 4th of July parade and fireworks. |
| Join us in April for the fishing season opener or over Memorial Day weekend for our annual Mule Days. Fort Independence Reservation Campground is open year round, so you can join us in winter for skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling, or in summer for backpacking and bird watching. If you like, you can make our Owens Valley RV park into your home base while you head out on day trips to soak in the Keough's Hot Springs or hike our Native American Interpretive Trail. |
