Step back into history at these amazing south-central Pennsylvania attractions

East Broad Top Railroad - Climb aboard an early 1900's-era steam train and rumble down the track the old-fashioned way! On weekends between June and October, the East Broad Top Railroad, or EBT, runs its steam locomotives under coal power. Get your ticket at the 100-year-old station, tour the museum and 1900s equipment, then hop aboard to take your seat in the gleaming parlor car. You can tour the historic cabooses, passenger cars, freight cars, steam locomotives, and the curious gas-powered motorcars that date to the 1920s. The EBT began in the 1850s, hauling coal from Broad Top Mountain, but you can ride in high style today, enjoying train travel the way your great-grandparents did.

Old Bedford Village - Discover America's past in this living history village in beautiful Bedford, Pennsylvania. This Colonial village has a number of occupants living their lives as the early Americans did. See women spinning and making candles, musicians playing flutes and fiddles, and the blacksmith crafting horseshoes on his anvil. Take a class to learn the art of broom making or wheat weaving, quilting, and leather working. You can even view a historic military reenactment when soldiers revive Civil War battles and skirmishes from the French and Indian War. Old Bedford Village lets you step right into the pages of history!

Rockhill Trolley Museum - From street cars and trolleys to inter-urban cars and snow-sweepers, these electric vehicles evoke the charm of a bygone era when travel by trolley was the fasted and cheapest way to get around. Climb aboard a restored trolley for a breezy ride through the countryside, led by your friendly uniformed trolley crew. Hearken back to the days when your grandparents paid a nickel to ride the streetcar, long before cell phones and personal computers. You'll even skirt the rails that carry the steam locomotives of the East Broad Top Railroad when you set aboard one of these gleaming, colorful trolley cars.
