Whitefish Hill RV Park & Campground
recommends these attractions in and around
Rapid River, Michigan!

Michigan's Little Bay de Noc, offering over 30,000 acres of water, and Big Bay de Noc, offering over 90,000 acres, makes for a fisherman's dream come true. Add to this an aggressive fish management program and you have some of the best fishing in the USA. Although probably best known for its trophy walleyes in the fall, Bay De Noc does provide excellent fishing for a number of different species throughout the year. Spring, summer, fall or winter are all fun and productive.

The Sand Point Lighthouse is located in Ludington Park at Escanaba, on the north shore of Lake Michigan and served mariners continuously from 1868 until 1939. When this lighthouse was built in 1867, it was at the water's edge and warned the ships off Sand Point and the sand reef, which reached out into Little Bay De Noc. The attached brick tower was topped by a cast iron lantern room that housed a fourth order Fresnel lens. The light, a fixed red signal, was first illuminated on the night of May 13, 1868. The lighthouse is open to the public from June 1-September 1, 9:00am - 5:00pm and during the month of September 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
