Mountain Top Arboretum - The Mountain Top Arboretum is a living museum of native trees, shrubs, and flowers 2500 feet above sea level in the peaks of the Catskill Mountains. Serving as a preserve and a garden, the arboretum is an educational and recreational treasure where visitors can smell the flowers, stroll the walkways, take in scenic views, and take guided tours to learn about Catskill horticulture. Windham Country Club - Scenic and challenging, Windham Country Club is an 18-hole public course located in the Northern Catskill Mountains. The course offers open fairways, spacious greens landscaped with flowerbeds and native trees, and sweeping views of the mountains. Amenities include a driving range, a fully-stocked pro shop, an elegant restaurant, restrooms, and a clubhouse. The best times to golf are weekdays after noon. local3

Saugerties Lighthouse and Trail - A few miles away in the town of Saugerties, the first lighthouse at the mouth of Esopus Creek was built in 1838. Now it is a bed & breakfast offering tours on weekends and holidays. The lighthouse features a nature trail that passes through a wooded tidal swamp and emerges on to the sandy north beach, exposing visitors to the diverse habitat of the Hudson River. The lighthouse also features a museum chronicling its first days.
