During the summer many special events are planned to entertain and mesmerize everyone in the family festivals, fairs, free concerts, street dances, and fireworks most Thursday nights. Besides the Pier, the beachfront businesses offer gift and souvenir shops, restaurants, nightclubs, and arcades.

| Sixty-two square miles comprise the Town of Wells which has a year round population of about 10,000. The town has several different sections with interesting names. The most southern beach area of Wells is Moody Beach, next is Wells Beach, and the most northerly beach is at Drakes Island. To the west are High Pine, Wells Branch, and the Merriland Ridge area. Together, these areas make up the Town of Wells!
