Texana Park & Campground

Now that Texana Park & Campground, formerly Lake Texana State Park, has joined up with the Brackenridge Recreation Complex, the opportunities for outdoor fun are bigger and better than ever. Guests staying at either of the neighboring campgrounds, both managed by the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority, are free to mix, mingle and enjoy the amenities of both parks. Lake Texana, covering 10,000 acres, is a shared asset, ideal for fishing, jet skiing and boating. Once you've decided on your vacation plans, making a reservation is a simple process, using the online reservation system.

Park Entrance

Camp amid oak and pecan trees at Texana Park & Campground in RV sites close to the water, with either water/electric or full hookups. You can glide in a canoe or kayak in the coves that curve around the camping area. Lighted fishing piers, fish cleaning station and fishing jetty help in catching your fill of crappie, catfish and white bass. Miles of trails allow you set your own pace and schedule, from 30 minutes to half a day of hiking. Watch for woodland creatures like white-tailed deer, rabbits and armadillos and occasionally, bobcats and turkeys. You may see an alligator too, but keep your distance. The nature center will give you  guidance on identifying the animals of the woods.

Waterfront RV Sites

Rodeos, fairs, musical entertainment, community fundraisers and trade shows are showcased at the Brackenridge Main Event Center at Brackenridge Recreation Complex. A covered arena seats up to 2,500 people and a paved area is perfect for setting up carnival rides and booths. Elsewhere on the grounds of the 275-acre complex, the Historical Trail leads to the Brackenridge Family Home Site and Cemetery. Various meeting rooms and buildings are designed to accommodate business conferences, wedding receptions and parties. Plenty of space in the complex has been set aside for picnicking and barbecuing.

If you're in the mood to get out and play, there's a wide selection of games and sports. In addition to volleyball, basketball, horseshoes and softball, take a turn at paintball, disc golf and gator golf. The staff at the park has prepared a great lineup of celebrations to make your stay special. There's the Snow Day and Winter Carnival, 4th of July fireworks, an Easter Egg hunt and the Texana Chili Spill. Nearby cities like Victoria, Edna and Ganado are filled with places to shop, listen to music, dine and explore. Feel the thrill of reeling in your catch if you venture a little further to Port Lavaca or Port O'Connor to try your hand at saltwater fishing.
