New Braunfels (10 miles) offers an Old German atmosphere mixed with the pleasures of the Guadalupe River. The Town Square, with its many antique stores, is a shopper's paradise. Just down the road you will find Schlitterbahn Water Park where you can rent tubes to take a slow (and sometimes not so slow) float down the river. Several times during the year you can join in true German celebrations which you are sure to never forget. |
| San Antonio (15 miles) is a wonderful city full of excitement and history. Go back in time as you walk through the Alamo and other missions. In the Alamo walk through the Long Barracks Museum where you will see exhibits that tell the story of Texas. Take a leisurely stroll down the River Walk and take advantage of the many restaurants and clubs along the river. Take a cruise down the beautiful Paseo Del Rio shaded by plenty of trees and surrounded by gardens. The Riverboat Ride, one level below the city streets, will take you on a 3 mile tour of the River Walk. Downtown San Antonio also boasts tons of great shopping including Market Square/El Mercado. El Mercado is a replica of an authentic Mexican market and has 32 shops and there are 80 specialty shops in the Farmers' Market Plaza. |
| Families love our area for the wide variety of theme parks. In San Antonio there are Sea World San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Splashtown. New Braufels is the home of Schlitterbahn Water Park. Also visit the famous San Antonio Zoo and Japanese Sunken Gardens in Brackenridge Park. Also located in the park are the Witte Museum and
H-E-B Science Treehouse. We are the nearest RV Park to Natural Bridge Caverns and Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. |
| Retama Horse Race Track provides local excitement during live racing season. In the mood for a concert? Just down the road is the Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre hosting many top performers during the year.
