Thomas Jefferson's Monticello - Thomas Jefferson's Monticello is the autobiographical masterpiece of Thomas Jefferson, designed and redesigned and built and rebuilt for more than forty years. Your tour of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello includes the house, gardens and grounds, and the plantation. The gardens at Monticello were a botanic showpiece, a source of food, and an experimental laboratory of ornamental and useful plants from around the world. The Monticello plantation of 5,000 acres was a center of agriculture and industry, and was home not only to the Jefferson family, but to workers, black and white, enslaved and free. A variety of tours are offered to fit your needs and to enhance your visit to one of America's most beautiful historic sites. Thomas Jefferson's Monticello is on VA Route 53 near the intersection of Interstate 64 and VA. Route 20, a short drive from Small Country Campground. local1
