The North Carolina Arboretum - The North Carolina Arboretum is a 426-acre public garden located within the Bent Creek Experimental Forest at the Pisgah National Forest. Miles of nature trails offer leisurely walks as well as challenging hikes. Grove Arcade Public Market - This unique building thrived until WWII as one of the country's leading public markets. Today, this historic Neo-Gothic structure built in 1929 has been restored to its original splendor featuring fresh foods, regional cuisine and locally made crafts.In Asheville, you can choose from unique items like hand-painted porcelain, hand-made clothing, potter, glass, wood work, jewelry and more.While shopping Asheville,the outdoor market offers a dozen stalls of even more crafts and fresh produce.
