River Bend County Park invites you to experience these highlights of the Foster and Sweet Home area

Located on the southeastern edge of the beautiful Willamette Valley, the City of Sweet Home - home of the Oregon Jamboree country music festival, lies nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range not far from the scenic Oregon Coast. It is recognized as the "Gateway to the Santiam Playground" recreational area. Foster and Green Peter Lakes offer boating, fishing and camping for the whole family. The Sweet Home Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest beckons hikers, hunters and campers. The Shimanek covered bridge. Oregon has more covered bridges than any state west of the Mississippi. Many of the covered bridges are concentrated in the Sweet Home area. The Santiam River which runs along the north border of Sweet Home. A deer browses in a Sweet Home yard. Deer, geese, ducks, possums, coyotes, raccoons and numerous other wildlife abound in and around Sweet Home.

The Oregon Jamboree In Sweet Home is the Northwest's Premier Country Music and Camping Festival. Located in the foothills of the scenic Cascade Mountains the festival takes place at a seven acre park-like setting bordered by Sankey Park and the historic Weddle Covered Bridge. The Jamboree offers an intimate concert experience. In addition to featured headline entertainment this family style event hosts RV and tent camping, food booths, beer & wine gardens, and special displays. The festival draws attendees from around the state and country, and has hosted many international visitors as well. The Jamboree was founded in 1992 and is produced by the nonprofit Sweet Home Economic Development Group. The Sportsman's Holiday and Sweet Home Rodeo, held in July, is a popular event featuring a professional rodeo, a grand parade, a buckaroo breakfast, music and dancing, an amusement carnival, and fireworks over Foster Lake. If you enjoy rodeo events such as bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling and many others, the Sweet Home Rodeo has them all. The Linn County Historical Museum is located in historic Brownsville, Oregon. Housed in Brownsville's original railroad depot, the museum holds collections and information representing all of Linn County.

The museum also cares for the Moyer House, an elegant home completed in 1881 by pioneering figures of Brownsville. The Linn County Historical Museum and Moyer House are owned by the Linn County Parks & Recreation Department.
