Owners Eugene and Roberta Beavers were looking for a place to retire and thought a campground would be ideal. While visiting the area, Eugene says he caught more fish in Port Bay than in all the time he spent anywhere else. When they heard a campground was up for sale in the area, they checked into it. In April 2000, they bought the Port Bay RV Park and Campground and just last year, they purchased the adjacent four acres, which they are now dressing up to be used for primitive tent campers, boat storage and parking for customers.
"The first year was a total learning experience," Roberta laughs, but they have enjoyed every moment of it.
