| Downtown Aiken - It's always refreshing to find a small town filled with
charisma and charm, and Aiken's downtown area certainly embodies these
qualities. Alive and flourishing, the antique shops, galleries, and
unique gift shops, are abundant. You'll also find eateries ranging from
breweries and pizzerias to bistros and family restaurants. Special
events are often held downtown including lobster races, beach music,
great food, and even a bluegrass festival! There is always something to
do downtown!

| Aiken State Natural Area - This unique park features four spring-fed
lakes, a river swamp, bottomland hardwood forests, and dry sandhill
forests. With the South Edisto River meandering throughout the area,
canoeing, fishing, and swimming are great outdoor activities. The park
also has an abundance of plant and animal life, making it a prime spot
for nature study and birding. Other activities include picnicking and
hiking the nature trails.

| The River Golf Club - Golf is part of Aiken's history and its blood,
which explains the cornucopia of courses in the area. Six of these are
public, the best one being The River Golf Club in North Augusta, just 30
minutes from Aiken. Nestled along the banks of the Savannah River, the
course features large bent grass greens, numerous lakes, wetlands, and
dramatic bunkers. Challenge your game on the 18-hole course and enjoy a
great meal at the club's grill.
