For salt water enthusiasts the gulf waters offer salt flats as well as deep sea fishing ground, which are hailed for the abundance and variety of fish which include, grouper, tarpon, sheepshead, sea trout, red snapper and during the summer months and abundance of scallops and crabs.
Diving
Snorkel and scuba diving in the areas sparking clear springs attract visitors from afar to experience the manatees and explore the many underwater caves. The water remains a constant 72 degrees year round. The 'City of Hawkinsville' is a sunken river steamer and an underwater state park favored by scuba divers.
Trails
Hiking and bicycling are everywhere throughout the region. Canoe/kayak trials are established in the Lower Suwannee delta/estuarine system. The trail winds its way through several brackish and fresh water creeks.
