| Birders and Butterfly Enthusiasts from all over the world come to our park because we are within minutes of the headquarters for The World Birding Center and the North American Butterfly Association. Visit one of the nine designated sites that protect wildlife habitats throughout the Rio Grande Valley, including the 85-acre NABA Butterfly Park and The Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, where the intensive outdoor gardens of native nectar plants, natural habitat and specific caterpillar host plants attract vast numbers of wild, rare and native butterflies. is a short drive from our park. On South Padre Island, you can have an unforgettable day of relaxation by lounging on the beautiful white sandy beaches or by sipping a coctail while the sun sets. While you are there, don't forget to dine in one of the many sea-side restaurants and visit the quaint shops for souvenirs, clothing and gifts. If you like to fish, then charter a boat for the day and try your hand at deep sea fishing. Or, you can enjoy a variety of water sports like water skiing, sailing, kite and wind surfing, para-sailing and swimming. Once you visit the Island, you will want to return again and again. |
