Set in the North Carolina Sandhills, this resort offers activities like tennis, lawn bowling, swimming in the pool, and beach sports like boating, fishing, and sun-bathing. There are more than 20 rental boats available, a stocked fishing lake, beach volleyball, horseshoe pits, and special children's activities. For golfers, this is a unique chance to play on the same course where Jack Nicklaus and Payne Stewart once hit the ball. | Airborne and Special Operations Museum - Take a tour through time, following the advancement of airborne operations from 1940, the year the first U.S. Army Parachute Test Platoon was formed, to today's special operations units. Set in a dramatic building with a five-story high open lobby, you'll be amazed by the artifacts held in this museum. See a fully deployed parachute, exhibits depicting WWII Europe, and "Screaming Eagles" equipment from the war in Vietnam. Climb aboard the Pitch, Roll, and Yaw Vista-Dome Motion Simulator to get a taste of what these soldiers go through, or watch a film that puts you right in the middle of exciting military operations.
