Black Hills Caverns
|
Black Hills Caverns - Step back into prehistoric times and discover how the
caverns were formed at Black Hills Caverns. It takes many thousands of
years for the underground rooms to form, but it will only take visitors one
hour to tour all the three levels of the cave, covering 3/4 mile. The
caverns host a fantastic variety of formations, including stalagmites, rare
forest crystal, columns, draperies, and popcorn crystal, among others.
Visitors can also participate in gemstone mining at the caverns. The
caverns are open daily.

The Journey Museum
|
The Journey Museum - The Journey Museum tells the story of the Western Great
Plains by bringing together four major prehistoric and historic collections.
These include the museum of geology, the archaeological center, the Sioux
Indian museum, the Minnilusa Pioneer museum, and the Duhamel collection.
View Native American artifacts, fossils, dinosaur bones, visit an
archaeological dig, and learn how the Lakota Indians lived. Scheduled tours
are offered or visitors may wander on their own trek through time.

Bear Country U.S.A.

Bear Country U.S.A. - Nestled under tall pines and along rolling meadows,
Bear Country U.S.A. offers intimate views of North America's most beautiful
mammals. Enjoy a 3-mile drive through the unique wildlife park and
encounter black bears, grizzly bears, mountain lions, arctic wolves, elk,
big horn sheep, and American buffalo, just to name a few. There is also a
walk-through wildlife center where smaller animals and baby bears can be
viewed in their outdoor habitats. Bear Country U.S.A. also offers gift &
snack shops.

Custer State Park
|
Custer State Park - South Dakota's largest state park, Custer State Park,
consists of 71,000 acres known for its bison herds, other wildlife, scenic
driving, historic sites, and fishing lakes. There are two visitor centers
within the park offering information and naturalist programs. Visitors
will find exceptional fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, hiking,
biking, and boating. The park also features jeep rides to see the bison and
chuckwagon suppers. Visitors will discover a world of adventure at Custer
State Park.
