| Lake Nelson Campground is a fun Blue Ridge Mountains resort offering lots of activities for the whole family or group to enjoy. Lake Nelson is a 45-acre state-owned fishing lake, allowing anglers some excellent fishing opportunities, as well as canoeing, and paddle-boating. The campground offers boat ramps for your convenience. If you prefer swimming in a pool, Lake Nelson Campground has a new inground pool ideal for everyone to splash and play the day away! That's not all a Shenandoah Valley camping trip has to offer! The central Lynchburg campground also features a club/meeting room, a small playground, picnic area, and lots of outdoor space for games and fun! |

| When it's time to get out and about, the surrounding area will not disappoint visitors. Shenandoah Valley camping offers many intriguing points of interest and attractions to visit in Charlottesville, Lynchburg, and Arrington. The Blue Ridge Mountains resort is minutes from the local Woodson's Mill, the Oak Ridge Estate, and numerous wineries. You may want to visit the Walton's Mountain Museum in Schuyler, home of Earl Hamner, creator of the Waltons, or maybe take in the sights of Crabtree Falls, the highest vertical drop cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Nelson County also hosts many festivals and special events throughout the year, including a garlic festival in October, apple festivals in the fall, and a summer festival in June. Whatever your interests, you will find them while staying at the central Lynchburg campground. You may even want to extend your stay to fit everything in!
