Hiking - There are many trails in the area to suit all kinds of hikers. For example, Cactus Rocks Trail, a one-mile moderate hike, offers large rock formations, interpretive trail markers, and a variety of plant life. Another short, moderate hike is the Vista Knoll Loop. Some highlights of this hike are scenic views of Lake Travis, varied terrain and good wildlife viewing potential.

Fishing - Looking for a great fishing spot? With 18,622 surface acres, Lake Travis has lots of room for visiting anglers. Predominant fish species in Lake Travis include largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, white and striped bass, catfish, and sunfish.


Golfing - Golfing in Austin is a real treat. There are 19 in the general area to choose from, plus 12 driving ranges to improve your accuracy. With choices like these, any golfer is sure to find the perfect course!

Nature Walks in Texas Hill Country
Nature Walks - The Texas Hill Country offers unparalleled diversity. In the spring, roadsides and open fields are dotted with colorful wildflowers, from the Indian Paintbrush to the Texas state flower, the Bluebonnet. Autumn brings vibrant reds, oranges and yellows as leaves announce the start of a new season. Summer is a time for tubing down the river, boating on one of the many area lakes or enjoying an outdoor barbecue. Winter is mild with a touch of cool air, ideal for viewing the thousands of Christmas lights the local residents display. Be sure to bring your camera!
