| Being located directly in the Manistee National Forest allows guests of Heart of the Forest RV Park to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities. We are minutes from the most beautiful rivers, lakes, hiking and biking trails that Michigan has to offer. Take a canoe, kayak or raft trip down the Big and Little Manistee or Pine River. Bike or hike at Big "M" trails, Pine River Corridor or the North country Trail. Our National Forests are abundant with the delicate morel mushrooms in the spring and plenty of wildlife for the bird watchers. Tippy Dam and it's backwaters are a short three miles from the camp. It offers good fishing from bluegills and crappie to walley and some big pike. Or just do some boating and take in some of nature's best (brain food)! Fishermen come from all parts of the United States for the fall salmon run. We are 17 miles from Lake Michigan, if you like big lake fishing or there are many small inland lakes nearby for pan fishing. Check our links page; there are several outfitters and liveries in the area. You can enjoy cooling off in the summer, watch the fall colors, or view the abundance of wildlife along the banks of our rivers and streams. Heart of the Forest RV park is the closest campground to all of these activities that will make your northwest Michigan camping trip a memorable one. |

| Heart of the Forest RV Park is only minutes from Cadillac, Manistee, Lake Michigan, and the Little River Casino. Fawn Crest Golf Club is right behind our park. It's a great nine hole course. Wellston is near many other small towns and villages including Bear Lake, Kaleva, and Onekama where you'll find quaint shops, cafes, and art galleries. Day trips may include a drive to Traverse City or Mackinaw. Geo Caching is big these days and there are a lot of "caches" in our area. Whatever your interests, you'll find them right here on your Northwest Michigan camping trip. |

| However you decide to spend your time at Heart of the Forest RV park, you'll appreciate the clean, modern facilities and friendly service. Heart of the Forest RV Park offers rustic to full service sites with water, sewer and 20/30/50 amp pull-thrus. All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. Our bath house is modern, with flush toilets, hot showers and even a laundry. Our convenience store, The Whitetail Party mart, is a Marathon gas station and is located right in front of the campground. We handle all your camping supplies, groceries, ice, firewood, propane, fuel, beer, wine,DVD rental, hand dipped ice cream, Piccadilly Circus pizza and subs(delivered to your site!).
