Colorado Springs is home to a number of nationally-known local attractions. The most famous of these is Pikes Peak. The 14,110 foot tall mountain is the backdrop for all we do in our fair city, and it was the inspiration for Katharine Lee Bates' America the Beautiful. A distinctive piece of architecture is the Chapel located at the Air Force Academy, which is located on the northern edge of Colorado Springs. local1

We are also home to the Olympic Training Center. The more than 6,000 foot altitude of Colorado Springs, as well as its favorable year round climate, makes for excellent training for America's world-class athletic competitors. The Springs is also home to the National Fireman's Memorial, which honors America's fallen fire fighting heroes. There are many more local and regional attractions that our friendly and knowledgeable staff will be happy to direct you to, as well as answer your questions about. local2

Goldfield RV Campground is convenient to all the local attractions. We are just a short distance from three downtown shopping districts, as well as a number of indoor and outdoor shopping malls. We have great recreations facilities near by, and the views both day and night are spectacular.

Old Colorado City is our nearest shopping district, and it offers a number of unique gift shops, many of which feature local crafts and artwork. This is just a short walk from the RV Park, and there are a number of locally owned restaurants, which serve a variety of local cuisine.
A near cousin to Old Colorado City, and yet distinctly unique, Manitou Springs features unique shops with a local flavor as well. Speaking of local flavor, be sure to sample some the mineral water from the numerous springs as you meander about the area.

Sometimes a workout looks like a workout, and other times it looks more like playtime. For a refreshing experience that looks more like the latter, try the Aquatics and Fitness Center in Memorial Park. This indoor pool/water park is open year round and features a hot tub, a lazy river, a children's play area, lap lanes, and a fast water slide. There is also a fitness center with state of the art aerobic and resistance as well as free-weights.
