Goldfield RV Campground is conveniently located. Not only are we easy to get to, but everything you want to do is nearby as well. It is a short drive to the beautiful Garden of the Gods. This natural rock formation was a gift to the city, and remains a park with free access to all. Its large vertical terra cotta colored rock slabs are everyone's favorite photo op in Colorado Springs. Make sure you also see the balanced rock and visit the Trading Post and the Visitor's Center to learn more. There is hiking available at Garden of the Gods, but that is not the only place. activities1

Just a short drive south of our park, you will find great trails along lower Gold Camp Road, as well as in Bear Creek Nature Center. The visitor center at Bear Creek can guide you to all types of trails suited to your particular fitness level. The Red Rocks Open Space (788 acres) with over 7 miles of trails is a 5 minute walk from your RV site. For those who want a real challenge, the Barr trail up Pikes Peak makes for a great all day adventure, or there are numerous sites for rock climbing. activities2

Perhaps you want to see Pike's Peak, but your preferred means of transportation is one that is a bit more protected from the elements. The Pikes Peak Cog Railway is a great way to see Pike's Peak (America's Mountain) in an entirely different way. Sit back, relax, and listen to the guides tell you some of the history of the area, the mountain, and how the railway came to be, as well as enjoy the wildlife you may see along the way. You can also drive to the Peak or arrange a tour by bike, or motor coach.
There are also riding stables in the area to assist you with equestrian adventures. The stables offer scenic guided tours for everyone from novice to expert. *Remember: If you are not accustomed to our more than 6000 foot altitude, take it easy for a day or two while acclimating, and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER TO AVOID ALTITUDE SICKNESS.
