Within these mountains of the great Northern Sierra Nevada lie a rich history of hidden treasure and an overflowing wealth of stunning scenery. The forest's glowing gem is the Feather River Watershed. Portions have been designated Feather Falls Scenic Area, the centerpiece of the 15,000-acre scenic area being the 640-foot Feather Falls. An extensive network of trails and streams provide a myriad of recreation opportunities, including the Yellow Creek stream which is a perennial favorite among catch and release fly fishermen. |

| Within fifteen minutes of the park, you will find three beautiful golf courses which will challenge your skills on a beautiful lawn bordered by pine trees. The charming community of Chester is located at the north end of the lake and offers a complete range of amenities. Quincy, the county seat of Plumas, is a quaint little town nestled against the southern slope of American Valley. Annual arts and crafts shows, a July 4th firework spectacular, and an annual Cowboy Poetry Festival in September are among the popular events featured each year. |
