The nearby Niobrara River is a popular waterway for canoeing, rafting, kayaking and tubing, as well as swimming. The waters travel at six to nine miles per hour, so it's ideal for beginners and families. If you'd rather stay dry, there are several state parks and natural areas that allow visitors views of waterfalls, hiking trails and picnic areas. Waterfalls, canoeing, boating and sightseeing are all perfect ways to enjoy your vacation. |

| Fishberry Campground is conveniently located five miles north of downtown Valentine. In town, you'll find everything you need to have a great night on the town or a fun day of shopping and sightseeing. You'll find craft shops, book stores, a cyber cafe and one of the area's largest western wear stores. There are several fine restaurants offering Nebraska steak and meat, as well as great home cooking. Once in Valentine, be sure to stop in at the Visitors' Center for all the information about current happenings in and around the area. |
