Desert Belle Paddleboat Cruises
Desert Belle Paddleboat Cruises - Sit back and relax on this 90-minute narrated cruise where you'll see towering canyon walls, dramatic desert vistas, and exotic Arizona wildlife. Listen as the captain describes the unique history of Saguaro Lake and the surrounding area. Private charters with dining options are available. Don't forget your camera and binoculars!
Desert Botanical Garden
Desert Botanical Garden - Situated amongst the red buttes of Papago Park, the Desert Botanical Garden offers visitors one of the world's largest and finest collections of desert plants. Explore the 50 acres of outdoor exhibits on the five trails and view ancient cacti, wildflowers, and other plant life, as well as vistas of mountains and animals of the Sonoran Desert. The garden is open daily, year-round. Visit the patio cafe and the garden's gift shop for a chance to purchase your own desert plant.
Phoenix Art Museum
Phoenix Art Museum - One of the largest art museums in the Southwest, the Phoenix Art Museum houses 17,000 artworks that span the centuries and the globe. View pieces of art from America and Western America, Asia, Europe, Latin America, modern and contemporary collections, and fashion design. Video presentations allow visitors to learn about the collection and create their own tour, or visitors can catch a daily, one-hour tour led by volunteer docents.
Mesa Historical Museum
Mesa Historical Museum - The museum is located on the historic grounds of Mesa's last remaining schoolhouse of the early 1900s. 30,000 square feet of exhibit rooms showcase more than 4,000 collectibles ranging from antique farm equipment to domestic items, all donated by local founding families. Mesa's Old Lehi School, home of the museum, has been officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Washington, D.C. Self-guided tour materials are available at the front desk, and docent may lead tours upon request. Admission is free.
