The Bastrop County campground enjoys mosquito-free nights and days that are 20 degrees cooler than the rest of the area because of the river. The Lost Pines RV resort is conveniently located to McKinney Roughs Nature Center, Lake Bastrop, McKinney Falls State Park, and several area golf courses including Pine Forest Golf Club. Colorado River RV Park is also in close proximity to Austin, where guests can enjoy a wide variety of attractions. Guests will find plenty to keep them occupied, whether you stay close to your new home away from home or explore the surrounding area. | The Bastrop County campground is directly on the Colorado River, allowing guests easy access to all kinds of water activities. Bring your fishing pole and enjoy angling for hours on the banks of the river or from your boat; largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, pan fish, freshwater drum, and channel catfish are in abundance. Guests have even caught catfish weighing up to 100 pounds at the Lost Pines RV resort. Colorado River RV Park is adjacent to a boat launch, so you can unload your smaller boats with convenience. Everyone can enjoy a day in the water, or picnicking on the banks. As of April 15th, guests will be able to enjoy horseshoe pits, a putting green, and canoe and kayak rentals through Cook's Canoes. There is also a large clubhouse where guests can hang out with their families or groups they are traveling with. You'll find all the activities and facilities you'll need to enjoy your Prairies and Lakes Region camping. |
| When it's time to get out and about, the surrounding area will not disappoint. Bastrop is one of Texas' oldest settlements, complete with shopping and dining opportunities, as well as more than 125 historic sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Main Street is lined with old structures housing antique shops, restaurants, and specialty shops. You'll definitely want to spend a day enjoying the historic town. The Lost Pines RV resort is also within minutes of several natural attractions, including Lake Bastrop, McKinney Falls State Park, and Bastrop State Park where visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, wildlife viewing, and more! If you like golfing, you'll find at least five courses within a short drive of the Bastrop County campground; if you enjoy horseback riding you may want to stop by McKinney roughs for a trail ride; there are numerous opportunities for sightseeing, visiting cultural attractions, and more! The possibilities for enjoying your Prairies and Lakes Region camping are truly endless. |
