Folsom Lake
Folsom Lake - Folsom Lake is managed by the California Department of Parks and Recreation and is one of the largest lakes in the state with 75 miles of shoreline and 18,000 acres of surface water. Visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, skiing, and more! Folsom Lake offers miles of equestrian trails, mountain bike trails, and paved bike roads. Fishing is excellent year-round with easy access to launch ramps and courtesy docks available to the fishermen; you'll find a variety of species including rainbow trout, brown trout, black bass, catfish, crappie, and bluegill. Bring a picnic and enjoy all that Folsom Lake has to offer!

Marshall Gold Discovery State Park
Marshall Gold Discovery State Park - At Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, visitors can view Marshall's monument, the original gold discovery site and several historic buildings that became part of California's state park system in 1927. Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park features a museum, many original and restored buildings, and costumed volunteers. Activities include panning for gold, video presentations in the museum and sawmill demonstrations at the working replica of the original Sutter's Mill. With a map from the museum you can guide yourself on tours of the town, the cemetery, the Monument Trail, and the Monroe Ridge Trail. Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park is a great place for families and groups to spend an afternoon.
