Owl Creek Pass & Silver Jack Reservoir
Owl Creek Pass & Silver Jack Reservoir - John Wayne Loved this country, and so will you. Scenes from "How the West Was Won" and "True Grit" were filmed along this magnificent route winding through national forests and river basin country. Take a picnic lunch and a camera and enjoy one of Colorado's most charming byways for rest and relaxation, western style. You'll be in the Uncompahgre National Forest and you will climb to the crest of 10,114-foot Owl Creek Pass. A favorite fishing spot for local residents, the 325-acre Silver Jack Reservoir is about 15 miles from the pass. Hikers will enjoy many scenic trails along the reservoir.
Black Canyon National Park
Black Canyon National Park - Imagine depths ranging from 1,730 to 12,700 feet and, at one point, a width of 1,300 feet at the top and as little as 40 feet at the bottom and you have the Black Canyon National Park. Let your senses encounter nature's magnitude as you discover the untracked wilderness and hidden splendor of the canyon along with the distant roar of the river. You can view this awesome natural gorge from 12 lookout points along the 6 mile rim. What are you waiting for - you're within 15 minutes of one of the world's natural wonders.
Lighter than Air Balloon Affaire

Lighter than Air Balloon Affaire - This spectacular view is from Cedar Creek RV Park and takes place on the July 4th Weekend. You will see morning flights providing an inspirational rainbow of color against the blue sky with the San Juan Mountains in the background. In the evening hot air balloons are lighted from within providing a glowing image of giant colorful lanterns.
San Juan Mountains
San Juan Mountains - The San Juans cover 12,000+ square miles of southwestern Colorado and about an either of the State. The mountains are relatively new, geologically speaking, and are among the highest and most rugged in North American. Hundreds of San Juan peaks rise above 13,000 feet and many surpass 14,000 feet. Mt. Sneffels, which is in our backyard, is very popular with well know Photographers.
